My paternal grandmother passed away in 2009. I am so thankful that I was able to see her one last time. I was actually in Trinidad because my maternal grandfather had passed, not knowing that Mother would pass a month later.
I got to spend time with Mother, as we all called her. One day I sat in the room with her and I sang some hymns. This was all I could really do to communicate with her because she had Alzheimer’s.
I sang a couple of songs and she said, “Minty? Is you? Yuh come to see me?” It meant the world to me to hear those words. I was so happy that she remembered me! Weeks later, she passed but I will have those memories to cherish for a long time.
I thank God for the amazing power of music.
“The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17

Music can really heal and cast out spirits. I have witnessed this on more than one occasion. Remember when you sang in India… ;)
ohhh India…LOL
