Marriage. What do you think of when you hear that word? If you’re an unmarried young lady, chances are you think of a gorgeous wedding and your dream bridal gown. I’ve got a secret to share with you…it’s not about that! LOL
This weekend my husband and I attended a marriage enrichment weekend. One of our friends from college is now a pastor, and hosted the event at his church in Mississippi. Let me tell you, it REALLY was a blessing and an answer to prayer.
Dr. Gregory Allen and his wife, Dr. Carol Allen presented a seminar entitled: The Secret to Marital Bliss. They shared the simple basis for a happy marriage: individual submission to Christ and mutual submission to one another. This is the biblical model they shared with us:

Neither husband nor wife is over the other, but are partners under God.
We had a wonderful time catching up with our friends and learning how to improve our marriages. What a refreshing experience! I am thanking God for being able to see the example of happy marriages this weekend.
