Growing up, I often heard “presentation is everything” from my dear mother. lol I remember when I was about 11 years old, my mom had me make potato salad for Sabbath dinner. I followed her instructions, tasted it, and had her sample it. When it was to satisfaction, I proceeded to place it on the dinner table. My mom’s face turned to one of horror (okay..I might be exaggerating) as she saw the dish on the table. “Minty–how could you put that mixing bowl on the table? You have to present it NICELY.” I looked at the bowl, sides all smeared with mayonnaise and grudgingly followed directions. lol
That day I learned that…presentation is everything! lol It might not be everything, but it sure does count for A LOT. I was perusing a blog over at Our Eyes Eat First and read a really cool article. It featured a woman who was following in the steps of “Julie & Julia” and posting 365 days of vegan recipes WITH pictures. When it comes to recipes, if it doesn’t have a picture, I probably won’t try it…but she has some great pics to go along with it. I’m not vegan (I prefer to class myself as an “eater”), but I will definitely be trying out some of these recipes. In the mean time, I’ll be posting some pics from my weekly cooking to a facebook album. Feel free to check out the eye candy at: I <3 food and food <3 me
